THERMAL COPIERS

These machines were designed to make masters for printing copies, both in schools, and in specialist production control applications. Both of these uses are long gone.

However in the late 1980s it was realized that the product could solve a problem for tattoo artists as images then stored on drawing film, and reused could no longer be used more than once because of hygiene issues.

So there was a need to reproduce a transferable image quickly.

The machines then available were made by 3M and Vista fax, both designed for several applications including thermal transfer of spirit carbon. The 3M models ceased to be manufactured about 20 years ago, the Vista fax manufacturer in Denmark ceased trading about 7 years ago.

The only machine now available specifically designed to work with Hectographic spirit carbons is made in Germany and distributed in the UK exclusively by Unigraph who support both warranty and ongoing repairs.

OUR HISTORY

Unigraph has been established since 1966 and sells printing, copying and office products.

One of our main markets is schools, and it was into schools that the Hecto carbon products were mostly sold under the brand name 'Banda', a brand owned by Unigraph.

Now both manual and thermal carbons are almost exclusively supplied to the tattoo industry for image transfer.
